Terms and Conditions:

  1. The headquarter for the above posts would be Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun. However, the selected candidates would be liable to serve at any location within India as decided by the Institute as per functional needs.
  2. Age: Minimum age of 21 years and not exceeding 31 years in case of candidates possessing Master’s degree, and 34 years in case of candidates having Ph.D. degree as on last date of receipt of application.
  3. Age Relaxation: Relaxation in upper age limit shall be allowed in accordance with the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training) OM No.1501282/2010-Estt.(D) dated 27.03.2012 and revised from time to time.
  4. Candidates who belong to the Other Backward Classes and the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS Category) may ensure that they fulfil the prescribed norms issued by Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training) from time to time and submit requisite certificate in prescribed format (Annexure – 1 & 2).
  5. The period of experience in the requisite discipline/area of work shall be counted with effect from the date of acquiring the prescribed minimum Educational Qualifications required for the post. The period spent in required areas will be counted towards professional experience, only when supported by credible documentary evidence.
  6. The job requires teaching, training and field research that involves extensive traveling to forest interiors including remote high altitude areas and Islands.
  7. Short-listed candidates will have to produce original certificates cited in their applications at the time of interview, if called for.
  8. PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING:

The candidates should submit the application in the prescribed format (Annexure – 3) by Registered /Speed Post to The Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradudn 248001, Uttarakhand mentioning ‘Application for the post of Scientist-C’ on the envelope.

The last date for receipt of application along with self-attested copies of supporting documents is 15 June 2023 up to 1700hrs. Applications from abroad and those from Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, State/Union Territories in the Northeastern region, Ladakh, Pangi sub Division of Chamba, Lahual & Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh is 22 June 2023.

Applications of In-service candidates should be duly forwarded by the competent authority (Annexure 4). Incomplete applications will be rejected.

  1. APPLICATION FEE: Non-refundable application fee (Rs. 1000/-) (Rs. One Thousand only) is to be deposited by the candidates belonging to General and OBC categories through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the The Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun along with their applicaiton Fee once paid by the candidate will not be refunded in any circumstances.
  2. SELECTION PROCESS:

i) The Institute’s Screening Committee shall screen the applications received by due date and organize a written test for short-listing the candidates to be called for a Seminar presentation and Interview.

ii) The written test for the short-listed candidates shall be conducted at the Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun on 10 July 2023 between 0900h to 1400h. The written test would comprise of Essay (20 marks) and Multiple Choice Questions (50 marks). A merit list (1:10 proportion for each post) of shortlisted candidates will be prepared based on the written examination. There will be a 70% weightage of the written test in the selection process.

iii) The shortlisted candidates will be invited to present a seminar in front of panel of examiners constituted by the Institute. The format of the seminar will be communicated to the candidates after shortlisting. There will be a 10% weightage of the seminar presentation in the selection process.

iv) Following seminar presentation, a final interview will be conducted for each post by the Institute’s Committee for Selection & Assessment Promotion (ICSAP). There will be a 20% weightage of the interview in the selection process. v) The date(s) for the Seminar and interview will be hosted on our website and intimated to the short-listed candidates

  1. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
  2. Mere fulfillment of the minimum advertised qualification and experience requirement DOES NOT automatically entitle an applicant to be called for written test/interview.
