Opportunity for Project Scientist at NICED. The vision, of the National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases (NICED), is to perform research and develop strategies for treatment, prevention and control of enteric infections and HIV/AIDS threatening the Nations health.

The project position is to be filled up on purely temporary basis on consolidated salary under the ICMR funded ad-hoc research project entitled A multicentric longitudinal cohort with nested case-control study for the assessment of immunological correlates of long-term protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection among fully vaccinated health-care workers under Dr. Santasabuj Das, Scientist ‘F’ and P.l. of the project.

What are the Educational Qualification(s) for this position(s)?

1st Class M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences, Covering Biomedical Science, Pharmacology, Zoology, Botany, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Biotechnology and related applied Life Sciences subjects, from recognized University with a minimum of 4 years of R & D experience, preferably in the same subject after First Class Master Degree (PhD will be considered as equivalent to 3 years of experience).

OR

2nd Class M.Sc. degree in Life Science as defined above + PhD degree in relevant subjects from a recognized university with minimum of 4 years of R & D experience, preferably in the same subject after PhD.

What is the Age Limit for this post?

Not exceeding 40 years

Monthly Compensation:

Rs. 51,000/- (PB Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 GP Rs. 6600) + HRA as per rule

What are the Preferred Skills required for this Job/Position?

  • Additional Post-doctoral research experience in relevant subjects from recognized Institutes, as evidenced by publication in reputed journals.
  • PhD thesis/postdoctoral experience on the subject area of Immunology will be given special preference.
  • Hands-on experience on flow cytometry for immunephenotyping, especially using human peripheral blood samples.
  • Hands-on experience of cell sorting using FACS.
  • Hands-on experience on ELISPOT assays and multiplex ELISA.

General Instructions To The Candidates:

  1. The candidates may carry with him/ her a filled in application (in the prescribed format attached in PDF) affixing a passport size photograph along with self attested photocopies of credentials. The candidate should also submit all certificates/ testimonials in original for verification. Those who fails to bring the Original Certificates will not be considered for written test/ walk-in-interview.
  2. Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST and OBC (Govt, of India non creamy layer certificate) candidates against the reserved post and also to retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including project) and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons as prescribed in ICMR project Recruitment Rule dated 24.08.2016.
  3. Candidates experience as mandatory requirement should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment and the duration of his/ her engagement in the project.
  4. If already engaged in service, the application need to be forwarded by the Mead (P.I.).
  5. All posts are contractual for the duration offered with a consolidated salary only. The engagement may be renewed after every specific period of the time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirement. No additional benefit other than fixed consolidated pay will be provided.
  6. The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments or continuation of his/her services in the same or any other project.
  7. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/walk-in-interview.
  8. The Director, ICMR-NICED, reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts, without assigning any reasons thereof, no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

  10. Date of Walk-in written test/interview may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence, candidates are advised to check website before appearing for written test/walk-in-interview.
