  • NCBS entrance exam for PhD

    NCBS conducts a national level entrance exam in the month of December every year for candidates who have completed Master degree in any basic science including life science. Candidates will have to take a written test, qualifying which they will get admission to PhD program.

  • DBT entrance exam for JRF program

    Department of Biotechnology (DBT) conducts entrance exam in the month of February for getting admission to JRF program. Qualifying this exam will help in pursuing research in several areas of biotechnology. It is coordinated by Biotech Consortium India Limited. Based on score two different merit list is prepared, one list for candidates qualifying for the award of category I and the second category II. Category I candidates can avail fellowship and is tenable in any university/ institute where the candidate will register for PhD programme. Category II candidates will be appointed in any DBT sponsored project and get fellowship from the project.

  • ICMR JRF exam

    The Indian Council of Medical Research in collaboration with the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and research (PGIMER), hold a national level examination for awarding Junior Research Fellowships. A total of 150 fellowships is awarded out of which 120 fellowship is awarded to biomedical science with special emphasis on life science and another fellowships for work on special emphasis on social science. The candidates selected for the JRF programme of ICMR would be permitted to enroll themselves for the Ph.D. programme of any University recognized by the UGC/MCI.
    The validity of fellowship awarded to a candidate will be six months. Another 100 candidates would be selected for consideration for positions of JRF under various research schemes of ICMR for the duration of that scheme. If enrolled, these JRFs would also be permitted to complete Ph.D. while working in the scheme. The validity of result will be two years for placement in ICMR funded project.

  • JNU entrance exam for PhD

    Jawaharlal Nehru University also conducts a national level exam for pursuing PhD, in the month of May.

  • NIPER PhD entrance exam

    The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) at S.A.S Nagar, Mohali formed as a Centre of Excellence for conveying higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences and management. It offers PhD program in several disciplines including life science. Candidates interested in pursuing PhD are required to apply for the entrance test conducted by NIPER every year in the month of June.

  • PhD entrance exam of National Brain research Centre

    NBRC demeanors advanced research in varied areas of the interdisciplinary field of neuroscience. For pursuing PhD, candidates have to qualify entrance exam conducted by NBRC. Selected candidates have to undergo a teaching program of 1 year for learning basics about brain and then conduct research work.
