It is very difficult dealing with it because significant amount of time as well as effort is spent for cultivation a culture that is lost to contamination. Some of the hidden contaminants can also result in imprecise and flawed results that will destroy a labs reputation. Generally, the cell culture contaminants is mainly of two categories chemical contaminants like media impurities, water, endotoxins, detergents and then the biological contaminants like bacteria, molds, yeast etc. Another major source are the cross contaminants or cells from other species, that can have some serious consequences.
