CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in important areas of plant sciences.

CSIR-NBRI is looking for engagement of an outstanding R&D professional on the purely temporary position of Scientific Consultant in CSIR funded project “Next Generation Insect Resistance in Cotton Phase-II” (HCP0023) on contractual basis.

What are the Key Responsibilities?

Characterization of newly discovered insecticidal proteins.
Recombinant expression and functional characterization of the insecticidal proteins.
Identification of the post-translational modification on insecticidal proteins.
Elucidation of the mode of action of insecticidal proteins.
Development of a method for the foliar application of insecticidal proteins.
Molecular analysis of GM cotton lines and selection & characterization of best events.
Maintenance of protein purification facility.

What are the Educational Qualification(s) for Scientific Consultant position(s)?

Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with more than 05 years post Ph.D. experience in the area of Protein characterization and elucidation of the mode of action of insecticidal proteins.

What is the Age Limit for this post?

Minimum 35 years as on date of interview.

Monthly Compensation:

Rs. 1,20,000/- (Rupees One Lac Twenty Thousand Only) per month (consolidated)

What is the Experience Required for this Job?

Preference will be given to a candidate with experience in the relevant area as evident by high-quality publication (more than 10 impact factor); in-depth understanding of protein characterization, protein protein interaction studies and mass spectrometry.

General Information:

On 15-02-2023 Time : 11:00 AM Venue : K.N. Kaul Block, CSIR-NBRI, Rana Pratap Marg, Lucknow.

Eligibility Criteria : The applicant must be a citizen of lndia.

Tenure of Appointment: The appointment to the post of Consultant shall be initially upto 31-03-2023 and can be extended as per extent guidelines of CSIR.

Engagement / Selection Process: Consultant would be selected on the recommendations of an expert committee, which will select suitable candidate on the basis of information available through application of candidates and on overall performance in the interview before Selection Committee.

Terms and Conditions:

Selected candidates will have to sign an agreement with CSIR-NBRI, which would contain details of the offer, monthly emoluments and any other applicable benefits.
The appointment of the selected candidates in the CSIR/externally funded project will be co-terminus with the project subject to his/her satisfactory progress, receipt of the funds from CSIR and other extant rules/ conditions/instructions issued by CSIR/GoI/Other Authorities from time to time. Total tenure of the Project Staff in different projects either in the same lab/institute of different lab/institute of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5years in any case.
In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute.
Number of position(s) may vary at the time of selection.
No TA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview.
Canvassing in any form and / or bringing any influence political or otherwise will be treated as disqualification for the post.
In case, it is detected at any point of time in future, even after engagement, that the candidate was not eligible, engagement of the candidate shall be liable to termination forthwith as per this clause.
All candidates must fulfil the essential qualifications of the post and other conditions stipulated in the advertisement. They are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the essential qualifications laid down for the post. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and selection is through open competition. Therefore, mere possession of the minimum education qualification does not entitle candidates for selection to the post.
To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for walk in interview.
While coming for Walk-in-interview, candidate(s) are advised to strictly adhere the CoVID-19 guidelines.
