3. JGEEBILS
Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Science or JGEEBILS is a shared entrance exam for doing PhD in biology and interdisciplinary life science.

Some institutes that consider this entrance exam while selecting candidates for PhD are NCBS, IISERs, IISc and TIFR. Such exams help reduce a student’s difficulty in appearing in multiple exams to get admission to reputed organizations.
It is true that each institute has its eligibility criteria but qualifying for this exam is one of the important stepping stones to getting selected. Once a student qualifies for this exam, they must apply for each institute.
4. AICE JRF/SRF – All India Competitive Examination
This is a national-level entrance exam conducted by ICAR. It is conducted once each year during June or August. Students qualifying for this exam will get a scholarship of Rs. 15000 per month in the first two years and then Rs. 17500 per month in the third year.
The ICAR institutes and other universities consider this exam both for project assistant and PhD positions. If you are a fresher and just completed your Msc microbiology, qualifying for this exam will help you a lot in making a strong career in the research field.
5. ICMR – JRF exam
The Indian Council of Medical Research, along with the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, conducts this examination for awarding a Junior Research Fellowship.
On qualifying for this examination, A JRF gets Rs. 25000 per month, and an SRF gets Rs. 28000 per month. Whoever wants to make a career in research, qualifying for this exam will help a lot.
6. University entrance exams for PhD – PET
Pune is known for the best quality education, and in Pune is, the popular Savitribhai Phule Pune University or SPPU. Under this university, there are 70 research-recognized Institutions and 46 academic departments.
SPPU conducts PET exams for PhD admissions. Even if no stipend is provided, students can enroll as PhD students in any funded projects.
