The University of Oulu International Scholarship Scheme provides scholarships to academically talented international students studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at the University of Oulu. The scholarships will be granted in the form of a tuition fee waiver and the tuition fees and scholarships depend on the programme in question. Applicants can apply for the tuition scholarship as part of the admissions process.

The scholarships will be granted in the form of a tuition fee waiver.

Scholarship value:

The successful applicants will be granted this scholarship in the form of a tuition fee* exemption and the tuition fees and scholarships depend on the program in question.

In order to retain the scholarship in the following year of study, a student must have completed at minimum 60 credits by the end of the previous academic year.

*Tuition fees:

Tuition fees are paid at Edustore. Please use a credit card for your payment and make sure your card allows you to pay a large enough sum at once.

The deadline for new international students to pay their tuition fees is June 10, 2024. New students must pay the entire 1st-year tuition fee at once by the deadline. The payment cannot be split into two or more installments.

What are the eligibility or selection criteria?

For a University of Oulu Scholarships 2024-2025, applicants are considered to be eligible to apply provided that they meet the admissions criteria and are liable to pay their tuition fees. Remember, the application for scholarship will only be processed providing that the applicant meets the admission criteria. The scholarship for the University of Oulu can be taken/received only once.

The criteria for selection for the scholarship will be done by taking applicant’s previous academic performance and their academic potential into consideration.

How to apply?

There is no separate application system for the International Scholarship. Applications for the International Scholarship are submitted together with the application for the preferred study option in the Studyinfo portal.

Fill in an online application at www.studyinfo.fi during the application period January 4-18, 2024.
Upload the scanned copies of your educational documents, proof of language skills, and programme-specific attachments to the online application.
The documents you upload to your application will be used to evaluate your eligibility for the degree programme.
