BACKGROUND
Tooth paste is a semisolid preparation used for cleaning and polishing the teeth. Dicalcium phosphate is used as an abbrasive agent. SLS is used as a foaming agent . Glycerin & PEG is used as humectant. Gum tragacanth is used as binding agent.1

Aim: To prepare and submit 10gm of paste.
REQUIREMENTS
Apparatus: Beaker (100ml),
Glass rod,
Weighing balance,
Pipette.
Chemicals: Dicalcium phosphate,
Sodium lauryl sulphate,
PEG,
Glycerin,
Sodium saccharin,
Gum tragacanth,
Peppermint oil.
PROCEDURE
Mix gum tragacanth and humectant with water. Add dicalcium phosphatc to the above mixture. Slowly flavour and SLS were added with gently stirring. The product is known as tooth paste. Then the product is packed, labelled and submitted.
