BACKGROUND

Face powder imparts a smooth finish to the skin and masking of minor visible imperfecitions, masking of shine due to moisture, kaolin, Calcium carborate, Magnesium carborate are used as absorbing agent . In addition to absorption capacity of kaolin, it has adhesive property. Zinc steratc and talc are used as covering agent. Magnesium carbonate imparts fluffiness to the powder.1

Aim: To prepare and submit 10 gm of face powder.

REQUIREMENTS

Chemicals: Kaolin,

Light Calcium carborate,

Zinc oxide,

Zin csterate,

Magnesium carborate,

Talc,

Perfume.

Apparatus: Mortor & Pestle,

Weighing balance,

Sieve 40 #.

PROCEDURE

Perfume was added to Magnesium carbonate in a mortor and pestle. In another mortor all the other ingredients are added in geometric progression. Ther the magnesium carborate and perfume mixture was added to the second mixture. It was mixed well and passed through sieve 40 #. Finally the face powder was packed, labelled and submitted.
