What are the Educational Qualification(s) for Technical Officer?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in law from a recognized University or Institute or equivalent; and working Knowledge in Computer. (or)
  • Master’s degree in Biological / Life Sciences from a Recognized University or Institution or equivalent and a pass in Patent Attorney Examination conducted by the “Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, Government of India with working knowledge of computers.
  • Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized University or Institute or A doctorate in Biological / Life

Probation Period

Two years

What is the Age Limit for this post?

30 years. Relaxable for serving Government servants upto 40 years (with not less than three years of continuous service) (Relaxable by 10 years for PwBD applicants)

Monthly Compensation:

Pay Level-8 (Rs.47,600/- to Rs.1,51,100/-)

What is the Experience Required for this Job?

  • Two year experience as an Advocate or Legal Consultant dealing with the matters relating to Consumer/Patent Rights/Intellectual Property Rights.
  • Two year experience as a Legal Consultant in Handling matters related too Consumer /  Patent  Rights / Intellectual Property Rights.

General Information:

  1. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of application i.e. 45 days from the publication of the advertisement in Employment News.
  • (Relaxable for serving Government servants upto the age of 40 years provided they have served not less than three years of continuous service.
  • The vacancy is also identified for the PwBD corresponding to Legal services post as per Govt. of India notification dt.4th January 2021.
  1. Competent authority reserves  the  right  to  cancel  the recruitment  process  at any stage  and  reject incomplete applications without assigning any reason.
  2. Disqualification :

No person –

(a)          who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or

(b)          who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post. Provided that the National Biodiversity Authority may in consultation with the Central Government, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.

  1. Conditions of Service:

The conditions of service of the officers and other employees of the National Biodiversity Authority in matters of Allowances, Leave, Provident Fund, Age of superannuation, Pension and retirement benefits, Medical facilities and other conditions of service, shall be regulated in accordance with such rules and regulations as are for the time being applicable to the officers and employees of the Central Government belonging to Group A, Group B and Group C posts, as the case may be, of the corresponding scales of pay stationed at those places.

  1. The selection will be made on the basis of written test followed by interview of eligible shortlisted candidates.
  2. Method of Recruitment:
  • Online Written Test: Written test will be conducted for eligible candidates comprising a combination of multiple choice questions and a short essay.
  • Short-listing of candidates: The candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks secured in in the written test.
  • Interview: The shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview, which will be conducted by the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA). This may also be conducted virtually, if required.
  • Selection: The selection will be made based on the following criteria:
  • 75% weightage for marks secured in the written test
  • 25% weightage for interview

Last Date of receipt of application is 45 days from the date of publication of notice in Employment News dt.12th August 2023.

  1. Application not in the prescribed format and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. Applications without self-attested copies of certificates / testimonials in proof of age, qualification and experience as enclosure, will also be treated as incomplete applications and summarily rejected without notice to the candidates and no correspondence on such rejections shall be entertained. The selected candidate should sign the Application (Annexure 1) & Undertaking (Annexure 2) given along with  the application. APPLICATIONS RECEIVED  WITHOUT  SIGNING  OF  UNDERTAKING  SHALL  BE  SUMMARILY  REJECTED..
  2. Suppression or willful misrepresentation of facts or furnishing wrong information in the application will result in rejection of candidature leading to termination from service if selected and appointed. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
  3. Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for and no correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in this regard.
  4. Applications received through email will not be entertained.
  5. The selected candidate is appointed only on provisional basis. Any subsequent amendments in RR (or) Selection process on the O. M of the MoEF&CC dated 21st June 2023 will be enforced accordingly.
