Recruitment of JRF and TA at IARI 2022. Applications are invited for 1 position of Junior Research Fellow and 1 position of Technical Assistant purely on contractual basis, time bound and non-regular nature under the project on “Genetic enhancement of rust resistance through mutation in chickpea” No.55/14/01/2022-BRNS. Project Code: 24-802, FMS No. 1013755.
The application deadline is 25th August 2022 and the short listed candidates will be intimated through E-mail to appear the interview. The interview for eligible candidates will be held on 8th September, 2022. The venue of the interview will be at IARI’s Regional Research Centre, Opp. UAS Campus, PB. Road Dharwad.
Eligible candidates are requested to send their application in the enclosed proforma (Annexure-I) along with declaration form (Annexure-II) and scanned copy of the original documents through email to [email protected] with a copy to [email protected] by August 25th, 2022.
Original documents will be verified at the time of interview. Therefore shortlisted candidates will be required to carry their recent bio-data in the enclosed formats along with original copies of the relevant documents besides the copy of M.Sc/M.Tech Thesis.
If any candidate is found to have submitted false claims during screening or at later stage, their candidature will be summarily rejected.

Junior Research Fellow
Post Graduate in Basic Science (i.e., Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/ Plant Physiology/ Life Science) OR Post Graduate in Professional Course with specialization in Plant Pathology/Plant Breeding and Genetics/Plant Physiology/ Plant Biotechnology/ from a recognized University.
Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests (for Junior Research Fellow) as mentioned in the DST office memorandum No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018, dated January 30, 2019.
Technical Assistant
Diploma in Agriculture or Allied subjects. Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
What is the Age Limit for this post?
Junior Research Fellow: Maximum age 35 years for JRF (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC.
Technical Assistant: 50 years
Monthly Compensation:
Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 31,000/- for 1st and 2nd year. From 3rd year onwards Rs 35000/- (HRA, if applicable as per BRNS guidelines)
Technical Assistant: Rs. 15000/- (Consolidated)
What is the Experience Required for this Job?
Junior Research Fellow: Candidate having basic understanding of plant breeding, plant physiology/plant pathology and experience of handling field crops.
Technical Assistant: Working experience in growing and maintaining crop plants in field and glasshouse.
Terms & Conditions
- Age limit: Maximum age 35 years for JRF (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC and Technical Assistant: 50 years
- The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis initially for up to 31-03-2023 or till completion of project whichever is earlier and may be extended periodically subject to performance of the candidate till the termination of the project.
- The selected candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.
- The interview for eligible candidates will be held on 5th September, 2022 the details of which will be communicated to eligible candidates by email/mobile.
- The candidates will have to compulsorily filled in application form (as per the format annexed), all the scan certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, degree certificate either original or provisional and a recent photograph enclosed onto the scan application form. Proof of experience and publications also need to be sent by email. The selected candidate will be required to produce all the original documents and medical certificate at the time of joining.
- No TA/DA/ any other expenses will be paid for attending the interview.
- Only the candidates having essential qualifications would be entertained for the interview.
- Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination.
- The candidate intending to attend the interview, if any of his near or distant relative is an employee of the ICAR/IARI, have to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, relationship in writing so as to reach by 25th August, 2022.
- If on the date of interview such declaration is furnished and found that his relative is an employee of ICAR/IARI, such candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
- All the other candidates are also required compulsorily submit the scan declaration duly signed in the format annexed along with other documents in the mail.
- In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi court only.
