What are the Educational Qualification(s) for JRF?

Junior Research Fellow-1

  • Masters in Life Sciences (Virology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Bioinformatics / Neurosciences or related subjects)
  • Qualified national level examination conducted by ICMR/CSIR/UGC/ DBT/DST or equivalent

Junior Research Fellow-2

  • MVSc (Vety. Microbiology / Biotechnology) / MSc (Agri. Biotechnology / Agri. Microbiology) / MFSc (Microbiology) / Postgraduate Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics etc)
  • Qualified national level examination conducted by ICMR/CSIR/UGC/ DBT/DST or equivalent

What is the Age Limit for this post?

28 years

Monthly Compensation:

Rs. 31,000/- + 27% HRA

Duration of the post:

3 years Initial appointment will be made for a period of 12 months, which will be extended every 12 months for three years (or till the end of the project) depending upon the performance of the candidate.

What is the Experience Required for this Job?

Junior Research Fellow-1

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience of

  • NGS techniques for sequencing of viruses and NGS data analysis (bioinformatics)
  • Experience of working in BSL 2 laboratory
  • Performing laboratory assays like ELISA and Real time PCR
  • Mammalian cell culture techniques
  • Maintenance of project records in laboratories, Documentation, Computer skills

Junior Research Fellow-2

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience of  Molecular techniques (PCR, Real Time PCR and downstream applications)

  • Immunological techniques
  • Virus sequencing techniques and bioinformatics
  • Mammalian cell culture techniques, isolation of viruses
  • Rabies diagnostic techniques
  • Experience of working in BSL 2 laboratory
  • Maintenance of project records in laboratories, Documentation, Computer skills
