Experiences I gained
I was working on plant tissue culture with a colleague of mine Joshua as part of the fulfilment of the requirements for a degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology here in Ghana. We had prepared our MS (Murashige and skoog) medium and had balanced the pH. We were waiting for the Autoclave to be freed for us to continue our work when the technician says he was going to lock the laboratory. We pleaded and he refused. We had no option than to keep the prepared medium in a refrigerator till the following day. We came back and did the autoclaving and the media failed to solidify. We had to start everything all over again. I was disappointed but we never gave up. In the end we realized refrigeration could alter the pH of MS medium hence causing the medium to remain in the solution state instead of solidifying.

After winding up of my thesis and viva-voice, an experience I learnt is to carry out an experiment in a specified time with suggestion and experiences of seniors without any physical help more precisely as all are not masters in practicals, so I experienced to isolate an organism lastly in a course of three months completely by using swabbing, assay and centrifugation.
So you see, even though we could have avoided this problem, situations beyond our control prevented us. But in the end, we learnt something new our failure. We usually learn many lessons from our failures. We just have to utilize those lessons and convert failures to success by using the experiences gained.
