7. Writing discussion without interpretation
A good interpretation mostly includes the relation of the result with the purpose, discussion about the unexpected results, giving suggestions for future studies and improvement of the current studies and co-relating the results with the general understanding of the field.
8. Inclusion of unnecessary information in the report
This happens with us while writing the introduction and the discussion part. We sometimes end up including several unnecessary things in the introduction and discussion part. We should keep everything with enough clarity so that the readers will not have to go through hills of superficial details for getting what we did, why we did, what we found.
9. Thinking that the unexpected results are because of errors
Science is interesting because of unusual and unexpected results. Therefore, if we think that every unexpected result that comes is because of any error then it is a major mistake. Many other factors are affecting the results. We have to validate the data or refer all literature related to the study to get a clear picture about the results. We have to be careful while writing the reports.
